Rush Street Interactive (RSI) claims that its integrated debit payments solution, which debuted on RSI's BetRivers platform in collaboration with fintech firm Sightline Payments, is an industry first.

What does it signify?  greater fluidity in the way users engage with an online gaming platform.  According to a statement released by RSI today, the solution would make it easier for gamers to access and utilize their account balances.

According to the statement, RSI claims that this will lessen churn, the need to constantly withdraw and re-deposit money, as well as the associated high payment fees and delays.  The new product, which is a white-labeled version of Sightline Debit, is called BetRivers Debit.

Sightline Debit is a demand deposit account and debit card that is designed for land-based gambling, igaming, and sports betting.  Users receive a Visa-branded debit card that is connected to a bank account that is insured by the FDIC and holds gaming funds.  This enables immediate access to gaming platforms both indoors and outside.

High Payment Expenses

Additionally, customers are better able to stick to their gaming budget when there are monies specifically designated for gaming.  It encourages responsible gaming.

Cross River Bank supports the solution, according to Omer Sattar, co-founder and CEO of Sightline Payments.

Over nearly 3 years and 200,000+ hours worked, in deep collaboration with 7 of the largest gaming operators in America, we painstakingly took the payment ecosystem apart and reassembled it, creating an entirely new, bespoke ecosystem where payments in gaming now is cheaper for operators and easier, safer, and more responsible for patrons,” said Sattar in August, when the company launched Sightline Debit.

According to the company, the launch of BetRiver's product in New York is the first stage of a larger expansion.
