Florida authorities are on the lookout for three hooded individuals who stole around $250K from a couple after they returned home from a visit to a gaming venue over the weekend. 

The thieves additionally took personal belongings from the two victims in the couple's driveway at their Boca Raton, Florida home around midnight on Saturday. 

The Palm Beach Post stated that the burglars were concealed in bushes, anticipating the couple at Northeast 29th Place. As the couple reached their driveway, the robbers came up from behind them. The thieves pointed guns at the victims as they neared the front of their home. 

Pointed Firearms at Targets 

According to the Post, the robbers subsequently requested their money and personal items, including watches, cellphones, and a handbag. The thieves tried unsuccessfully to take the victims’ car as well. 

The robbers managed to seize a firearm from the vehicle before escaping the location with the money and goods. 

According to Florida TV station WPTV, local police discovered the victims' cellphones on a road close by. 

Descriptions Made Public 

The individuals involved in the robbery were dressed in dark clothing and had masks covering their faces. According to Florida TV station WPEC, they were identified as black men, likely in their 20s. 

It seems that the police do not know the identities of the suspects, but they are looking for residential surveillance footage in the area that could reveal the suspects or their escape vehicle. 

It’s plausible that the suspects trailed the casino patrons back to their homes from the unnamed gaming establishment. Authorities did not reveal whether the pair secured the winnings during a weekend visit to the casino. 

If the robbers initially spotted the couple at the casino, it’s likely the suspects were recorded by the casino's surveillance cameras. 

Across the nation, casinos advise jackpot winners to opt for receiving their winnings as a check instead of cash. Security personnel can also accompany winners to their vehicles, to ensure their safety. 

“I do believe that they’re going to find them eventually, but it is alarming the fact that they’re still out there,” one resident, Melissa Blau, told WPEC, about the robbers. “This comes off the heels of last year, where there was a ring of thieves stealing people’s cars.
