BetMGM to Boost Responsible Betting Ads at NFL Stadiums

BetMGM to Boost Responsible Betting Ads at NFL Stadiums

September is Responsible Gaming Education Month. To encourage responsible wagering, BetMGM and MGM Resorts International, which owns 50% of the company, are once again collaborating with the American Gaming Association (AGA).

In areas where sports betting is permitted, the massive casino and the online sportsbook operator will enhance the GameSense platform's visibility at nine NFL stadiums. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) developed GameSense, which MGM first obtained a license for in 2017.

"The program focuses on positive, transparent, and proactive engagements with guests and customers about how to gamble responsibly. With this development, GameSense marketing will appear more often and in more prominent venue locations during each game,” according to a statement.

Among the first casino companies to aggressively encourage ethical wagering practices at NFL stadiums was BetMGM, followed by MGM last year. The United Kingdom-based Entain Plc is in charge of the other half of BetMGM.

BetMGM Responsible Betting Program Useful

The BetMGM and MGM proposal to raise GameSense's profile and visibility at NFL stadiums makes sense on a number of levels. In addition to the fact that the 2024 season begins on Thursday, more wagers than ever before are anticipated from gamblers on NFL games this season.

The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) received a $6.4 million donation from the NFL when it announced it was expanding its partnership with the organization approximately a week before to the gambling industry' announcement. In an additional move to prevent betting scandals, the league recently made steps to make betting policies clear to players as well as league and team executives.

NFL players are not allowed to place bets on any NFL event, and they are not allowed to use proxies to do so. Moreover, they are not permitted to gamble in any way while on team property, traveling to an away game, or staying at a team hotel.

"MGM Resorts is announcing a $440,000 contribution to fund responsible gaming research through the International Center for Responsible Gaming and Kindbridge Research Institute," the company said in honor of Responsible Gaming Education Month.

Many Locations for Responsible Betting Advertisements

This year, there will be more responsible betting advertisements displayed at the following stadiums: M&T Bank Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Nissan Stadium, State Farm Stadium, Empower Field at Mile High, Allegiant Stadium, Acrisure Stadium, and Ford Field.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, and New York Jets all call those places home. Except for the Chiefs' home field, all of the states where those stadiums are located allow online sports betting.

“BetMGM will also add to its catalogue of advertisements in the coming months that highlight its comprehensive responsible gaming resources. The spots will feature brand ambassadors sharing engaging messaging, similar to its highly regarded responsible gaming commercial featuring NHL MVP Connor McDavid,” concluded the gaming company.
