Coming to Brazil: "Largest Poker Event in South America"

Coming to Brazil: "Largest Poker Event in South America"

If everything goes as planned, Latin America's poker ecosystem will improve live tournament competition. The Kings Series of Poker (KSOP) GGPoker South America, which is being billed as the biggest poker event ever to take place in the region, will take place in Brazil in January of next year. There will be a total of BRL35 million (US$7.1 million) in guaranteed prize money. The 15-day event will take place in Rio de Janeiro's beachside community of Barra da Tijuca. More than 70 events, including a BRL$100,000 (US$20,000) Super High Roller, will be open to players.

There is also a BRL5,000 (US$1,000) Main Event with a BRL10 million (US$2 million) guaranteed prize pool. On top of his or her winnings, the winner will automatically receive BRL2 million (US$408,000).

Increasing Poker Standards in South America
According to a KSOP press release, the tournament series "promises to shake up the poker community like never before in Brazil." The "most glamorous event," it continued, will feature "Brazilian stars and international poker stars" at the Super High Roller. Felipe "Mojave" Ramos, a GGPoker ambassador and the fourth-place finisher in the Brazilian all-time money list for poker, tweeted about the occasion on Twitter X, the newest version.

He claimed that because there would be no direct taxes on winnings, the tournament would present players with a fantastic opportunity. Additionally, there will be events for every financial situation, making them accessible to a variety of players.

Starting on November 5, the online poker room GGPoker will host satellite tournaments that could lead to participation in the main event. At the same time, tournaments and other opportunities to win packages, including entry into the tournament and lodging at the event's host hotel, the Sheraton Grand Rio, will be launched.

The upcoming series is an extension of the collaboration between GGPoker and KSOP that was started at the start of the year.

The first series, which was to consist of seven stages spread out throughout the year in various Latin American nations, was held in Rio de Janeiro from February 8 to February 14. Two of these are online events, and five are live events.

Calendar for Poker Filling Up
The recent World Series of Poker (WSOP) series in Las Vegas, which reportedly set new attendance records, shows that interest is still present despite a decline in participation in some events.
The result is that there are more and more events on the poker calendar around the world. In addition to the WSOP Europe, the Maryland State Poker Championship is currently taking place.

The $12 million prize that was given to the winner of the WSOP Vegas Main Event may not be available for the WSOP Europe Main Event. But progress is being made.

The tournament, which is being held in the Czech Republic once more, offers a €5 million ($5.51 million) guaranteed prize pool. The WSOP Europe Main Event from the previous year exceeded the guarantee by $2.3 million.

Additionally, this month, PokerStars and Casino Barcelona in Spain will make the city the epicenter of international poker. The Spanish Poker Championship will take place at Casino Barcelona from August 11 to 21. The Estrellas Poker Tour will then take place from August 21 to August 28.

In addition to France and Monte Carlo, the PokerStars Live European Poker Tour (EPT) will visit Barcelona from August 21 to September 3. After that, it travels to Prague in December and Cyprus in October.
